Hey Everyone! ¡Feliz Navidad!

well.  i have more than a year now in the mission. isnt it crazy how fast time went? i cant even believe it.  less than a year and im back. its crazy.  anyways. i just wanted to tell you guys Merry Christmas. i know i dont write very many public letters anymore.  haha i just dont find the time. and im lazy to do it.  but i miss all you guys a ton and i love you!  i hope everything is going good at home and that your going to have a good christmas!

anyways. i wish i could send you guys some stuff for christmas, but it costs a fortune to get stuff to the U.S. its a joke.  so just pretend i sent you like a sombrero or something that says feliz navidad.

anyways, life has been good here, its cold around here.  weve been having to wear a sweater in the streets so thats kinda fun.  we have 2 solid investigators right now with a babtisimal date the 31 of December so im pretty excited about that.

my companion Elder Arroyo is awesome. hes like a brother to me. hes from Lima, Peru, and hes an awesome guy so im pretty happy right now, we get along way good.

life has been good. sorry i havent been writing too much, i need to get better at that huh? i really love you guys. sorry im so lazy at writing but know that im definitely doing good down here in Mexico.  lovin it,  missin home but lovin it.  ok its pretty ghetto down here, but still lovin it.  haha anyways. i gotta go. but Merry Christmas!

¡Feliz Navidad!

E-mail from November 7th!

hey its going good here!  my greeny is cool. yanno.... green. gosh i know the definition of greeny is now.  friggin fresh out of the MTC rule bashers! freak! haha. but its ok. his name is Elder Arroyo, and hes from Lima, Peru, in south america! its pretty crazy huh!?  but I'm definitely having to learn the skill of having patience and love.  he drives me a little nuts how hes so worried all the time. and the culture from where hes from is just weird.  but ya its going good. a lot of responsibility though that's for sure.  but its good. i really love the feeling that the Lord trusts me to train.  i had to go to Torreon which is really far to get capacitated, and president Flores says that the trainer is the biggest responsibility in the mission, then district leader, then assistant, then zone leader.  pretty nuts huh? he told us the presidency of the church has changed that up. so i feel honored, just a little stressed that' for sure!  but its ok. anyways im learning patience, and also my companion has a pride problem.  so do i. imagine that. i think that God wants me to learn something here huh? hahahaha. so ya. im really realizing that i just have so friggin' much to improve.  the spirit has given me a list of things i can do better. so im working on that a lot. its definitely a humbling expierience to be a trainer.  anyways. hows the house. hows life. hows jed?  i miss you a ton. coming up on a year! time is flying.  haha well i love you! and i gotta go. but tell everyone hi and i love them. i have pictures coming next week!

love

E-mail from October 31st

once again i dont have much time right now so im only going to be able to write you guys this week... but its been good here. i got my trainee.  hes cool. way green.  worries a lot but thats ok. hes from Peru.  the culture is really different down there in some things so he kinda drives me nuts in a few catogories. especially that they are super touchy feely down there i guess. and hes always touching me and like i know hes not gay. im certain. but he definitely seems it still. haha.  but ya.   also he kinda annoyed me the other night when we talked about looking at girls and stuff in the streets and he was like giving me crap how we have to be pure and everything.  oh my goodness. i didnt realize how naieve i was when i got to the mission.  freak. but hes cool. way cool. weve had some good experiences.  but everything is going good here.  anyways. want you guys to know i looked for the mattress cover and they arent here in walmart or sams club. so that kinda sucks. anyways.  i gotta go. love you guys i gotta go.  i miss you tons and love you tons. ill talk to you soon ok?  love you!

E-mail Post from 10-17-11

HEY EVERYONE! LONG TIME NO TALK!

everything has been good here in Ojocaliente.  the time is flying. one more week and we have exchanges again.  and im pretty sure me and my companion are parting ways. after 2 changes with him.  im pretty psyched to see what happens this next change.  we have some cool investigators right now.  but the sad thing is is that none of them went to church.  but thats ok were working with it. pray for them so we can get them to church!

anyways Ojocaliente is really awesome.  i love the members here they are like family to me. the only thing is is that they dont work too well in the ward. cuz they dont do anything. but we are working with that.

also Ojocaliente is really peaceful so thats nice. anyways so thats that.  Grandma and Grandpa i just barely got your email back cuz i accidentely deleted it so i will be writing you soon.  also to all my friends who dont have contact with me, email me. i have like no time to write letters..... sis if you could tell everyone on facebook thatd be awesome! thank you!

anyways. i kinda dont have much time.  i miss you all and you are all in my prayers!

E-mail from September 26th 2011!

gosh let me tell you how nice american houses are compared to ones in mexico! frick! i miss how clean it is there!  gosh it seems like its been so long.

anyways. ya my companion is way hes american.  this is my second change with him.  hes way cool. hes a good guy. i enjoy him.  haha. but we talk about america a lot together. gosh i miss american food.  the BEST. goodness.

my mission president, president Flores. is a stud.  hes strict and chill at the same time. he sets rules and invites us to do them. hes not super forceful. hes been changing a lot of rules around a ton.  like one that he changed, is that now we dont go by numbers in the mission. our ultimate goal is just babtisms. but he says the rest is just what we need to do. and its nice cuz your not like obligated to do all these contacts yanno?  like before he did that, our leaders were just all a bunch of number freaks.  thats all they cared about! it drove me nuts they didnt care about people just numbers. so its nice. it makes me want to work harder too. and plus, not gonna lie, i hate contacting. were doing it. just not as obligatory which gives me the will to do it. haha funny how that works huh?  was your mission like that though? did they just care about numbers too? idk it drives me nuts. all these missionaries running around lying about their numbers so they dont get in trouble, while like 5% are actually being honest about it. but thats changing so thats nice.

but ya president Flores is cool. hes funny, and hes way powerful too. hes a psychologist. so he knows how to talk too.  but hes way spiritual, and he speaks with a TON of authority.  but i really enjoy being around him, and due to the culture hes still pretty laid back but has rules too. but you can joke with him and stuff. i like him a lot.

anyways. for the first time on the mission were able to go to ALL of the conference sessions. i am so excited. earlier we were only allowed to the sunday morning sessions and the rest if we had investigators to go with us. it sucked bigtime. but now were good on that. so its pretty cool. im really happy about that. its not the same though translated, theres just something about the original voice of a person that changes a lot. but its still good so ya.

also that picture that you saw, theyre basically acrobats. they are way cool. they come from around mexico city i think. but they are way cool. definitely an experience. when i get back from the mission ill show you the video i recorded.  it was way cool.

anyways. this last week sucked. i was way sick. so it kinda sucked. like three days i just finished being sick yesterday but still feel a little dizzy.  but anyways im good now.  but this next week we´ll definitely be working a lot harder. im feeling a lot of energy i think were gonna have some new investigators this week for sure.

haha people and putting up store names in which they dont know the meaning... if only they knew

work is going good. trust me ive had my days where ive slacked. but ive learned from it.  im not giving up like the rest of them man. its just 2 years to the Lord and thats it.  and especially to people who need me yanno??  so im not taking that lightly. ive had my slacker companions and i actually revived one of them im happy to say =) ahhhhhhhh yaaaaaaaa. haha.  but its going good. im feeling about it right now. but definitely always room for improvement.  my companion is cool right now. hes american.... hes way cool. anyways. time is flying. a little over a year and im home. kinda scary.  really scary. but thats ok. just enjoyin myself while i can like you say haha.  but anyways. its going good here. im amazed what God does for missionaries. ive seen so many blessings its crazy. i know hes there. i mean even the simple example of the gift of tongues says it. i just turned back around from teaching a few teenagers english in spanish. just that simple example is real.  but lovin it.  anyways  thats pretty much it. i hope everything is going good keep it real. love you and miss you a ton.  stay classy my friends. and p.s. the shoes are doing great. i love em.

E-mail & Pictures from September 19th!!

hey hows it goin???  haha sorry i didnt write you i know im bad right??

anyways... ya the food is good! im gettin a little sick of it sometimes though. but most the time i still love it.  except for cactus. i hate eating cactus. they eat cactus. and i just hate it. it has a nasty acidy taste, and the texture is terrible, i hate it worse than salad. thats bad huh??? haha.  so ya i guess i figured out why they harvest cactus here. to friggin eat it! ugh!!!! kill me!  but also the fruit. which is really good, it tastes like watermelon so i like it. yes i like watermelon and salad now.  ok salad i can handle i still dont like it yet.
voladores de papantla ( Name of a ride)

me and my companion are good. i like him a lot.   haha... but we work way well together.  so thats that anyways. but im enjoying my time here.  studying is going good. im almost finished with alma working on finishing the Bof M by the end of this year. thats my goal anyways.  but its way good.  im loving all the details im getting out of it yanno?  Jesus the Christ is way good, just really hard to read, ive read like 5 chapters in that i like it a lot.  just hard to read. i wanna finish the book of mormon and the bible first. so ya.  anyways

E-mail from August 22nd!

I am definitely seeing the fruits of my labors here in the mission! two babtisms yesterday! and two more coming on friday! how awesome is that!???!!!  ahhhhhh! im lovin it! i really have realized that my first area was a test from God to see how patient and faithful i was with everything.  and now its really paying off.  i feel really on fire here right now.  and i really feel like God is blessing me.  im starting to really understand what its like to teach with the spirit and apply stuff and question and what not.  its so cool how much you learn when your just teaching!

anyways. spanish is fantastic.  people are telling me i basically dont have an accent in spanish now. so thats cool. the only things i need to work on right now are grammer and memorizing words! its pretty sweet =)  also my companion is way cool. hes from the U.S. if i didnt tell you. but he looks mexican.  but hes a way good guy and i like him a lot we work together way good.  but ya thats how thats going anyways.

gracias

con amor
