Hi everyone.  hows it all goin.  i miss you all a lot.  and i am also missing the US.  anyways i have a favor to ask you all.  we have an investigator, Fernando, who is really solid right now, and we have a babtism date for him 1st of May.  pray for him to keep with it and make it!  we need all we can get!  the adversary works in mysterious ways!  you never know! any ways this week is holy week.  its a little nuts.  we stopped by a house this last week to contact and they let us in.   they had like a friggin shrine in their house and like 7 virgins of Guadalupe.  and she was telling us like how in holy week they dont shower cuz its like the blood of Christ.  it was wierd, like people dont shower for a week?!  what?!  also that they dont turn on tv or anything.  but here in torreon they are having a reenactment of the crucifiction on thursday i think.  its supposed to be pretty nuts, and they are crucifying this guy on a hill here.  well not really but they are doing everything but killing him.  pretty brutal, but hey Christ went through a lot right?  anyways.  we are told to be careful in the streets this week.  cuz there are as many catholics here as mormons in utah and missionaries have been attacked by people on this week lol.  so ya i gotta watch my back this week!  haha anyways thats whats up really.  i have some pictures to send next week to have my sis put on my blog.  so thatll be cool.  but anyways im not doing to good on time so i have to go.  but everyone who is my family i get to call may 10th so be at the house if you live around there!  love you guys! and you are all in my prayers!  pray for Fernado por favor!

hey everyone.  life is good. we have 7 investigators right now! pretty cool. im pretty sure a few of them arent interested for sure.  but we have 1 or two that are hanging on really well. and we have a babtisimal date the 24th for them.  so thats exciting.  Their names are Fernando and Irma.  if you guys could pray for them that would be great.  cuz we need all the help we can get.  my companion is cool.  a little bit extreme with some stuff like telling me how i should sit in my chair and what not but besides that hes cool.  i have learned a lot from him and we are working hard.  anyways my spanish is doing allright.  i am having a hard time a little bit speaking up in lessons though cuz i just feel like people wont understand me.  if you dont roll your r's when you talk here people dont understand you.  its funny.  and hard at the same time. i understand a friggin ton more than i can speak.  and it is definitely a trial and a half.  but thats allright.  life is good.  were on the road to having babtisms and its cool.. its friggin hot here though.  about 95 degrees on average.  its pretty bad lol.  always sweating, and since this is a walking mission we are always in the sun.  i am getting a mad tan though.  too bad its only with my arms and face.  every where else is friggin white. lol.  but life is good and im enjoying the work.  time is flying by so much.  i am almost hitting my 4 month mark on the 15th how crazy is that!  but ya anyways pray for our investigators!  i think Fernando and Irma are going to get babtised i really do! and maybe members of Irmas family too they are all listening to us right now!  lots of good stuff!  anyways i gotta go but i love you all and hope its all good at home!  crazy that all my friends and my brother are on their missions as of now.  Mark Mattei got some pass downs of mine in the MTC thats pretty cool to hear.  and hes gonna give one to my Brother Jared.  pretty small world!  ok well love you guys and youre all in my prayers always!

P.S. The Mexicans stealing stuff out of sent packages is pretty much a myth and is pretty rare.  so just letting you all know if you want to send a package for some reason its totally fine ok? =) thanks!

 there are shrines everywhere here of her, and it is who people pray to down here. she is part of the catholic church down here. if you want to look her up youll learn a lot more than me.  but its far out.  people like worship her hardcore. staunch catholics down here its hard to get people to listen because of it.

E-mail from April 5th!

hey guys. so i have a new companion. Elder Curiel.  hes pretty cool and we are working hard.  as of now we have a new investigator! finally! his name is Fernando and he invited us into his house like right away when he saw us.  hes catholic, but he seems pretty open to our message.  prayer for him and us to teach him with the spirit i have a feeling hes been prepared!  anyways thats good news! weve been working pretty hard and what not. spanish is going good, and ive been able to understand about 90 percent of people talking! starting to actually be able to be myself in spanish its good stuff! so anyways thats that. ive got pictures coming. and a lot too.  so be looking for those on my blog ok?  so i heard that Mark Mattei one of my best friends is in the same district as me and everything.  he even has a passdown that i gave to someone when i left the MTC.  pretty small world, hes heading to new york spanish speaking on his mission though.  pretty cool.  and then my brother, and my other friends Jackson and RJ are going into the MTC at the same time.  so all my friends are pretty much in the MTC and i dont get to hang with them there lol.  but ya its good stuff.  im really enjoying it down here and starting to get a feel for it.  but ill tell you what i really miss america as wierd as that sounds.  its a really good place to live thats for sure.  i cant imagine living in another 3rd world country though like the phillippines or something else.  cuz this is already bad enough.  the government is corrupt here.  the police are paid by gangs.  i mean ya its messed.  so be happy to live in america seriously.  but its really cool here though and its definitely an experience thats for sure. anyways i have pictures coming guys!  be on the lookout for them ok? miss you all and hope all is going well!  love you all and ill be back home before you know it! i already have 4 months in about a week.  how fast did that go?  ok ill talk to you all next week!

sorry for the delay on the pictures once again.  i dont have them again this week.  but i have a lot coming i promise.  everythings good here just about to go into another change pretty crazy how fast 6 weeks went.  spanish is good and im feeling happy and well. i have a feeling that i have a lot more to do here in this area so i dont think im switching areas.  thats just a feeling though.  but anyways sorry its short but i gotta go.  me and elder lopez are gonna go say bye to some people for him since its pretty much for sure hes leaving!  sorry everyone! ill have more next week!  but its going really good.
