E-mail from July 18th!

***Last week when we didnt hear from Elder Day we were concerned because some gang shooting had been reported in Torreon. So part of his e-mail was in response to his family's panicked e-mails.

so ya im safe as you know from my last email i sent you and all. haha its that i had absolutely no time the computer cafes shut down at about 6 or 7 o clock so i only had time to check and not write back. haha.  yanno. anyways.  lifes going a lot better. ive been really concentrating on being focused on the mission and on my companion cuz hes a slacker. and the investigators. on which we now have 0 but thats ok. haha. people in mexico are very hard to bring to church. very hard.  they dont go through with ANYTHING!  but thats ok.

im happy to say my companion is starting to change. hes a little lazy. and didnt like to work much in the start. but im changing him =)  and im doing it by example too im really starting to realize how effective example is for people.  way cool. so that has kept my head really in the game and really concentrating on the mission.  ill tell you what though. im sick of this area. i need a change. ive been here since the start and im just ready to leave. ive pretty much knocked every single door possible. and im just ready to move areas haha. president told me pretty much im gonna leave. cuz usually we dont have more than 3 changes in one area but this is my 4th!  so ya im pretty much gone in 2 weeks.  thatll be nice. im ready for a change.  i have 7 months in the mission now though. how crazy huh?  its just flying! im just really starting to realize how fast the time goes in the mission.  its crazy! i am feeling a huge change though. im learning so much in the mission right now its crazy! i really realize the importance of the mission in my life. im learning so much just teaching, its amazing how much the spirit teaches.

anyways though life is really good.  im enjoying the mission just ready to change areas and be senior companion. im sick of having a senior companion who doesnt want to work! ahhhhhhh!  so hopefully next change ill be senior. but if not its the Lords will. i just know im doing what i need to do to be obedient. im feeling the juices! good stuff

anyways love you guys lots. hope i didnt have the family worrying too much!  love you!

E-mail from June 27th!!

Hey Everyone

ya i know its been kinda a long time haha.  sorry about that. its going good here. im on my 4th companion in the field now. Elder Martinez.  hes a really cool guy and i enjoy him a lot. hes a  little disobedient. but its all good.  im working on that with him.

we have one solid investigator right now. her name is Luz Maria. she is a friggin pistol.  she didnt go to church because something came up in her family and couldnt go. but shes really motivated to have a babtism, so that is really really cool to think about. i think were gonna have a babtism. finally in this area!  ya by the way this is my fourth change in this area,  Colon and Polvorera. ive had 4 and a half months in the same area since i got here. so i think 5 more weeks and im leaving to somewhere else. im pretty certain anyways.

its going really good though. im feeling a lot of spiritual progress and am really learning how the spirit speaks. it can be super powerful in lessons with people too.  There was one where i was certain that i felt the guy we were teaching, Chris, felt the spirit. so i came out with telling him that the spirit he feels right now is the spirit testifying to him and he came out with asking me if i was a mind reader or something haha. i cant even tell you guys how amazing the mission is.    im loving it and at the same time too the time is absolutely flying.  on the 15th of july i will already have 7 months in my mission. 7 months since i left home. i cant even believe how fast its going. before i know it it will be half a year. then 3 fourths. and then ill be home before i know it.  time is flying and i am really enjoying myself and the blessings of sharing the gospel with the people.

All i can say is i know for a fact this church is true. and that really honestly it is the church to help people go back to live with their Heavenly Father again here on the earth.   i know that the gospel is true. and that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins to help us get back to live with Him, as complete families, to live in the eternities. its a huge thing of hope to be able to know well see our family and our husbands and wives, and children again after this life. i know that its true because i have witnessed and felt the spirit testifying to me and to the people i have taught. and i know that this work is the work of God.  He really does want all of his children to know that He is there, and that He sends missionaries out to send this word of hope and peace, to comfort those who dont have that light in their lives, for them to partake of it and live it in their lives to live in the end, in the glory of Him.  i know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it was literally translated from the words of prophets here in the Americas, and that with the Bible, we have the complete gospel to apply in our lives. i also know that Joseph Smith literally saw God and Jesus Christ, and that through him the authority of Jesus Christ was restored here on this earth again and that His church could be restored through that authority, and that we can be cleansed of our sins through a babtism and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. i testify of a prophet today in these days, Thomas S. Monson. i testify that he has that authority to receive revelation from God, and that we can use his words and apply them in our lives to better ourselves and follow the teachings of God, and also that his 12 apostles have that authority to have that revelation also.  i know this church is true. and i hope that everyone will know that i am on my mission because i know its true, and to share it with all of the people possible, and that if i didnt know it was true, i wouldnt be here.  i love you all and i hope all is well on the other side.

Love

no i didnt want to put my face in cake. they smashed my face into it. haha. it was fun. listen. i am hitting 6 months in my mission on the 15th. isnt that insane? tell me thats not insane! so ya im going to burn a tie this week in honor of it. im pretty excited not gonna lie.  time is flying by. i cant believe how fast ill be home. just like you said.  the mission goes by so fast.  its getting to the point where days dont feel like weeks anymore. its just flying by.  anyways. good hope that were getting a babtism this week.  we had a fast to have one this change. and this sister shows up at church yesterday and says she wants her daughter babtised whos already gone to church more than 3 times. friggin sweet! so ya  fasting works! haha.  anyways. still in the same area.  going to have a 4th change in the same area i think too cuz my companion is going home this change so i will be in this same area i was born in for 6 months! how crazy is that huh?  haha anyways. its good stuff.   ya i think i might go to byu I for a semester nothing more cuz i want to get my grades back up and i hear theyre easy on return missionaries who have bad grades like me. haha.but i want to live in arizona after if i can. but its all good. anyways. gotta go. but love ya and hope all is well in lake winimasaki.  haha  love ya. and dont worry, im not dressing poorly.  a quote from elder day.... E-mail from June 6th

- Just to let everyone know, since Elder Day is in a more remote area his e-mails may be more infrequent, so if there is a gap between e-mails that is why - Danielle

i kinda hit my week where im finally starting to feel comfortable in the mission though. i think its the reality that im hitting 6 months and it seems like yesterday i gave my farewell talk. so im pretty sure its gonna go fast.  so im just taking it day by day and enjoying it while it lasts.  ya theres some crazy bugs here though. like for example the giant cockroach that is lying dead next to me. ya its huge. its like those ones on fear factor. it is absolutely terrible. i hate cockroaches. anyways. investigators. well, lets just say i was a little down yesterday. no one came to church. and i am dying for a babtism. if we dont get someone to church next week i dont get a babtism with Elder Pineda. it sucks.  but im getting one. so it doesnt suck. lol.  anyways. Elder Pineda is my buddy.  hes a cool guy hes going home this change though, that kinda sucks to watch lol. i miss home sometimes yanno?  oh my gosh guess what. a son of a member gave us an ostrich egg and we ate some of it last night! hahaha friggin sweet right?!  hahahaha. i have pictures im going to send via hotmail. anyways. no not really too many. Elder Pineda made me friggin die laughing though the other day. we ate at a members house, and she comes out with top Raman, which is good, i like that. but then when we finish that she comes out with, i hope you guys came hungry!  now you gotta understand, shes a little old, and shes kinda losin it lol.  she comes out with 3 hamburger patties and like 2 slices of tomatoes. not even buns or anything lol. anyways. i swallow them down, cuz ive learned to do that in my mission.  but Elder pineda takes the last one when shes not looking and slaps it in a napkin and throws it in his pocket! hahahah i was laughing so hard. it was so hard to hold when she was around! hahaha i finally bursted out, and my companion to be sarcastic was like whats wrong? and i was like i dunno i think i have a bite on my nose and i just started dying haha. and the hermana just laughed with us. hahaha it was halarious.  anyways sis, gots to go. but i miss the crap out of ya.  i have some pics comin and what not to put on my blog.love Kiki

E-mail from May 23rd

hey everyone. ya i know its been awhile again. hah its kinda hard to write big long public letters anymore.  but i miss you all a ton and i am doing good.  still in the same area. have a new companion Elder Pineda. we get along well hes actually my friend and we are getting it done.  life is good.  i miss home a bit.  but thats ok. i talked to my family on the phone on mothers day and that was way nice.  im gonna hit 6 months on june 15th in my mission! how crazy is that! i cant believe how fast its gone!  anyways. we got about 3 people who seem like theyre gonna listen to us.  Gaby our landlord, Cesar, who is diabetic and has to take seriously if hes going to live or not, and also Saida. i have a good feeling about them. please pray for them they need it! we need as much help as we can get.  i am learning to really use the spirit when i am teaching. its been really cool to learn more and more each day. its amazing how much you learn through the spirit just teaching. we think as missionaries that we are doing God a favor but its really him doing US a favor.  its been really good lately.  hah also ive had like 3 girls ask if i liked them now.  haha all i can say is well, no im a missionary.  its kinda awkward cuz i dont have interest in them like that haha, but they think that my interest in them as in care for them as a missionary is really me liking them. haha it gets frustrating and kinda awkwardly funny too.  i guess the mexican girls dont see to many white boys with blue eyes. i cant tell you how many comments i get on my eyes.  haha.  anyways.  its all good down here. learning a lot and really learning the Lords love for everyone.  i cant believe how much ive had help from the Lord in my spanish. i was senior companion for a day in divisions with another Elder and i really learned that day on how to rely on the spirit. it was way cool.  im amazed at how much the Lord loves every single one of us as imperfect as we are.  i am also really learning love for every single person in the street. that every single one of them now matter how much money they have or how crazy they are He loves them.  its hard to leave investigators for me. i really am starting to love people so much.  ive learned you can love people even if you have differences.  Im also starting to be able to be myself in spanish so thats nice.  its good to be personable.  like it says in the bible. Paul became of the Jews to be able to teach the Jews. i really liked that.  really become like the people to help them open up and listen to your message. im really loving the mission. and starting to understand a little .0005 of the nature of God and His love for his children.  anyways. i love all you guys a ton. and miss you. ill be back before you know it ok?! specifically Jade, i am going to write you when i get a chance! and also Katie, i emailed you on your byu address so i hope you got that!  if not let me know in a dear elder or something! ok i miss you all. and hope all is well!

love
