 Elder Russel M. Nelson came and it was awesome!  but ok guess what!!!! 2 days ago friggin Elder Jeffrey R. Holland came and talked! it was friggin amazing!  a huge wake up call to really drop my nets like in john 21 and concentrate fully on my mission.  and i feel so focused now.  i prayed to just let go of the world and worldy music exception a few songs til i get back.  so like i just keep coldplay and stuff in my head but mostly hymns if i can.  anyways.
 We elders try to do full out jello shots were stupid like that lol.  apparently the orange juuice here is really acidic too and someone drank 8 glasses in 4 minutes to take the challenge and got pretty sick off it lol. gotta love it!  i bought a music directors wand at the bookstore and i decided its a harry potter wand.  from ollivanders.  made of hungarian horntail claw and pegasus feather. its going good though.  its flying holy crap! president smith just got realeased this week.  so ya.  thats why elder holland came.  it was awesome geez.  but anyways life is great!  i really am understanding the concept of obedience. send me dear elders if you can they're the best cuz i get them that day! =)  ok love you!

Letter from Elder Day 1/6/11

Hey Everybody,

 

It's going great here at the MTC.  a little slow sometimes but it really is true when they say that days are like weeks and weeks are like days.  time is so much different here it seems lol.  Anyways it was pretty cool yesterday i got to host new missionaries coming in i felt pretty cool being on the other side receiving new missionaries lol it made me feel like i wasn't so much of a newb =)  haha.  But i've been learning spanish pretty well.  its kinda getting hard but i am working hard to learn it so that when i get to Mexico i won't be terrible at it.  I might be hosting next week too so maybe i'll see shawnterra and be the one to escort her into the MTC!  that'd be crazy lol.  I saw one of my friends Chrisse Cook working at the MTC book store now!  It's pretty cool to see someone i know there!  and also Maddy Moniz from our ward lol!  crazy!  But ya i've been starting to get the hang of it here its going pretty good.  I hope all is well back home and where everyone is.  I just want everyone to know that i love them all and that i am constantly praying and thinking about you all.  I can't believe Jared is going to Moscow thats so insane!  i'm so happy for him!  i sent him a russian book of mormon in a package i hope he got it!  it cost me like 10 friggin bucks to send that thing out!  what a friggin joke!  I am really starting to get excited about going to Mexico though.  its going to be great!  the only thing is is getting my visa to go down there.  if everyone could it'd be great help if you could pray for help with that that i'll get it on time.  If Lord willing of course.  But if i don't i think i might get a temporary reassignment to salt lake spanish speaking or something maybe.  which means maybe i'll see Cody and maybe even be in his zone or something!  that'd be pretty sick!  but ya its been good i just want all of you to know that i'm really starting to get a glimpse of how the holy spirit works and i'm really starting to appreciate all that God does for us.  funny story i was playing harmonica last night past "quiet time", and this guy came in and took it upon himself to rebuke me for playing past quiet time.  quote "thats not something to do during quiet time elder"  haha i gave him an evil look and said thanks.  i really wanted to shake his hand though and just be like oh my names elder day, piss off =)  with a smile.  but i'm on the Lord's errand yanno so i can't be picking fights.  but that doesn't mean that i can't think some people are just rediculous idiots lol.  I am really trying hard to find love in everyone though it is something i have been praying for.  i am trying to be more like christ in that way because its really come to reality that i am really a missionary representing jesus christ and i need to do my best to love everyone!  anyways i'm out of time now!  i love you all!  hope all is well i'll be praying for all of you!  and i'll see you soon enough after these two short years!  bye everybody!  til next week!

Elder Day's 2nd Week in the MTC

Hello everyone,

 

everything at the MTC is great!  i have found it so much of a different experience for me than last week!  i am liking it here! besides the sort of in the box mormon feel that kinda sucks lol.  but the spirit here is way strong.  Christmas was great believe it or not!  I really am starting to understand the true meaning of christmas here and understanding what it all means.  I have learned a lot in spanish and me and my companion are working hard to learning more.  I am having a very good week though here and i am looking forward to learning more about what the Lord has in store for me its going to be amazing i can't wait to get down to Mexico.  Well i have figured something out though, a lot of missionaries in my zone who are going to Mexico are having a hard time getting their visas to get into the country, and a few of them are having to get temporarily re-assigned before while they wait for their visas, which i figured was going to happen.  But no big deal really, everything happens for a reason yanno and if i get re-assigned its for a reason.  I just can't wait to get to mexico.  So i guess since the water is so bad in mexico when i got my materials the first day i got here i got a water bottle with a build in water filter in it included in my package.  kinda interesting.  I am really starting to get the hang of it here though, and hopefully i am getting better at being a missionaary and what not.  i'm starting to figure out how the spirit speaks and its not always that feeling of chills that goes down your spine but sometimes it really is a still small voice that you just have to search for and listen for.  It's going great though.  I have a really great teacher here, Hermano Harmon who has really taught me that you should love everyone that is around you because that is how Christ was and it is something that people can sense and is a really good attribute to have... but the funny thing is he didn't tell me it at all he taught me it through example, everyone in my district agrees too its like when you talk to him he just has this look in his eye that he really just cares about you and wants to help you with everything.  I hope that i can eventually grow to be like that.  I am working hard to get to know my Heavenly Father and getting closer to my savior and seeing his love for everyone around me.  The spirit here is amazing everyone, and i am starting to understand the concept of obedience, that you don't have to be annoyingly Peter Priesthood but you can still be obedient to the commandments of the Lord and that way you can learn to work hand in hand with the spirit.  I can't wait to learn more and i just want everyone to know that i know that the gospel is true and that the Lord really does love every single one of us.  Yo se que Jose Smith fue un profeta y Thomas S.
